Tuaran is half an hour's drive northeast of Kota Kinabalu. The road runs through lush valleys, forested hills and rubber plantations. The town has a good 'Tamu' (market). Among the highlights of the tour are the drive to Mengkabong water village, home to the Bajau fishermen whose houses are built on stilts over the water. Explore the village on foot. Then proceed to Tuaran past scenic countryside, padifields and water buffaloes and visit the local market. Then continue to Tamparuli and try your balancing skills across Sabah’s longest suspension bridge.
